Derbyfield Kennel About.png

At Derbyfield Kennel, caring for pets is not just a service, it is a family tradition. For over 40 years, we have been trusted by Cape Cod families and vacationers for safe, reliable, and loving pet care.

Derbyfield Kennel is located on three acres of wooded land in Harwich, Massachusetts, and is directly connected to the owners’ residence. This unique setup ensures that pets receive round-the-clock supervision and care. The facility includes 60 indoor and outdoor dog runs, 10 spacious cat condos, fenced play yards, a grooming salon, a training yard, and office space.

Every detail of daily care is designed with your pet’s comfort and safety in mind. Dogs are exercised in fenced grassy yards several times a day, cats are housed in quiet, stress-free condos away from dogs, and small animals such as birds and rabbits are cared for in secure housing with owner-provided food and cages. Puppies and senior pets receive extra attention, including more frequent feedings, rest, and supervised playtime. Music is played throughout the facility and nightly bed checks with treats are part of the routine.

In case of emergency, pets are taken to their veterinarian of record or to CARE (Cape Animal Referral and Emergency), which is located less than a mile away. Owners authorize emergency care upon check-in, and our staff immediately notifies the pet parent or their designated emergency contact.
